The California Redwoods travel to face the UFL’s best team, the Florida Tuskers.  A win ties the Redwoods atop the standings, while a loss muddies up the playoff picture.
Here is what Coach Green said about the 2-0 Tuskers.
“Florida is a solid team—they’re a fabulous team. They’ve got 10 players that have been in the Super Bowl and 40 players that have been in the NFL. Tatum Bell, Michael Pittman—those guys can really run the ball.”

So week 2 is in the books, and I am starting to get hooked on the Redwoods.
I admire management and Dennis for not going with the same-old, same-old.  Some of these players have been given a second chance, and some *may* get a chance to play in the NFL.  It seems to me, especially in this economy, that if someone is offering you money to do something you love, you better a) do it the best you can, b) not complain, and c) be thankful you have a job.

(San Francisco): 20 years ago, a 7.0 earthquake hit the Bay area.  This week, Coach Dennis Green and the California Redwoods shook up the roster, switching out players faster than a nervous Fantasy Football team owner. 8 new people were added to the roster.
They mixed it up further by benching starting QB Shane Boyd, and going with Mike McMahon.  And if that wasn’t enough, McMahon showed the New York Sentinels every play except the Fumblerooski.
The result?  The Redwoods went to 1-1 in the United Football League, putting them in back …

Every game in the UFL creates a record.  Tonight’s game is no exception.
It is the first California-New York game.
It is the first game featuring two 0-1 teams.
Can our Redwoods bounce back from last week’s loss, or will we start a Detroit Lions-like plummet to the cellar?
